The Adventure begins....
Day Camp is a great way for your son to experience the thrill of the outdoors and a good introduction to independence from mom & dad without being too far from home. The week-long program fills each day with adventure and the experiences for which boys join Scouting. The Day Camp is located in the Cub Country as part of the 1,200 acre Scout Reservation.
Cub Scout Day Camp at Cub Country has been in operation since 1979 at June Norcross Webster. Since its inception we have relied on volunteer leaders: Cubmasters, Den Leaders and parents. We need volunteers to help lead dens from one program area to the next, to maintain order and to keep morale high with the scouts.
Den leadership at Day camp is much like Den leadership the rest of the year: Lions and Tigers are 1 on 1. Wolves, Bears and Webelos are 1 leader for every 5 Cubs. This means that if the child is a Lion or Tiger they should be accompanied a parent, as the program is intended as a parent and me experience. If the Pack is sending more than one child, it becomes necessary to have volunteer leadership attend with them.
We ask for adult volunteers from each pack sending multiple children to ensure your children's safety, morale and overall experience at Cub Country Day Camp is an extremely positive one. While it would be nice to have the same parent here every day, we realize it is impractical to do so at times... We encourage dens/ packs to arrange leadership so that parents take turns.
